Progress

Yesterday I was able to start knitting the body and arms together on Elle's sweater. It is going to look so cute. The pattern calls for more yarn than I have and I was a little worried that I wouldn't have enough. But now I think I am going to have enough to finish. This is where I am right now.

Little Sister / Big Sister FO

I have completed the little sister. She is so cute. I sewed her together yesterday at lunch and finished her hair as I was cooking dinner.

Now I will be working on Elle's sweater and the blue blanket.

Hopefully on payday (Friday) I am going to purchase a new knitting bag from Knit Picks. I have my eye on one of the ones on clearance. My current knitting bag is falling apart. (The third one this summer.)

Big sister

The big sister of my monster duos is complete. I finished stuffing, sewing, and twisting her together last night. She will withstand anything a little one can dish out.

I have the eyes to knit on her little sister. After that I will stuff, sew, and twist little sister together.

Crazy

Hi everyone. This has been a crazy weekend. Not very much knitting got done (again).

Saturday we went to get Bella a bookbag at Ross. We also found Elle a new pair of shoes. She had already outgrown the last pair. Andy got a haircut too.

Today is the first day of school.

Elle has had diaper rash from the medicine she is on. I have to check her every 15 minutes to make sure she gets changed right away. She is also teething again and still fighting that ear infection. She has been very needy this weekend. Most of my time has been devoted to taking care of her.

I did stop by Hobby Lobby to pick up eyes for the monsters I am trying to finish. The big monster is all knitted and waiting to be put together. The small monster has her body and legs knit. I am currently working on knitting her arms.

Small steps

I have not completed anything else. I have been helping Isabella knit her puppy dog. Elle has had an ear infection and has needed lots of hugs and kisses.

I knit a row or two on the blanket, working on both sets of legs for the monster sisters, and haven't touched Elle's sherbert sweater.

Rainbow

I finished spinning and plying my hand painted roving. I was able to get 306 yards of two ply and had so much left over on one bobbin that I was able to try Navajo plying with the rest and got 36 yards.

It isn't very even but might be pretty as an insert in a shirt, hat, or mittens.

Big & Small

I am working on two monsters. A big one and a small one, sisters. I have the bodies done so far and am working on their legs.

The big one will be pink and green while the little one will be pink and gray.

Elle's Sherbert Sweater

I dyed 440 yards of wool yarn this past weekend to make Elle a winter sweater. It looks like Sherbert. It has a few shades of pink, orange, and yellow in it. She is going to look so cute.

I am making project 21 Raglan Cardigan in size 18 months from the book 60 quick baby knits. I am using size 7 needles. This is my progress so far on the body of the cardigan. The sleeves are complete.

Learning new techniques

Isabella finished her little purse. It turned out really cute. After sewing on the I-cord she thought it was too high on her body while she was wearing it. I cut the yarn, put the I-cord back on the needles, and she continued to knit until she was happy with the length.

She wants to start knitting a puppy from Itty Bitty Knits - Toys by Susan B. Anderson. So I started her out knitting with 15 stitches on three needles knitting in the round. She knit a good 8 inches in one day. Then yesterday I had her practice knitting into the front and back of the same stitch for an increase.

Monday night I spun the second half of my singles. I don't think I get near the same yardage as the first half. I will ply it in a couple of days and let you know.

Summer sweater

Last night after dinner Mike ran out to run an errand. I was just getting ready to give Elle a bath when he got back. She got water EVERYWHERE. She was so funny...kicking her feet and splashing around. After that we decided to take a walk. The sun was setting so it was a bit cooler outside. We walked to the Walgreens, which is just a couple of blocks from the house to get Mike some M & M's. We were hoping the change would tire Elle out. We had a great time laughing and playing with Elle and Izzi. Elle went right to sleep when we got home.

The other item I completed this weekend was my summer sweater. I took this out of my hibernation box so that I could complete it. I had started this project in February.

It fits perfectly. This might be a new favorite. I need to find someone at work willing to take a picture of me wearing it so I can show you. I will (hopefully) post a picture of it shortly.

Girl monster

There didn't seem to be much knitting time this weekend but I did manage to complete a few things.

Today I am going to show you the completed girl monster. She even has a skirt and long hair.

Catching Up

This week has flown by. (I am not complaining about that.)

Mike came home late Tuesday night. I am so glad to have him home. I definitely like having my partner in crime around.

Very little knitting has been getting done. I still have a collar to knit on my summer sweater. I did start the second color on my blue blanket. I have a monster in progress. Below are a few pictures of my progress. Maybe next week I will be better about updating.

I want to start a sweater for Elle out of my hand painted wool. I need to decide on a pattern and colors.

Crazy weekend

This weekend both Michael and Nicole were out of town. I don't mind (too much) when Michael travels during the week. But when he is gone over the weekend I don't do well.

A friend wanted a few rudely scarves for Christmas presents so the girls and U went to get the yarn. Elle is getting two new teeth so she was very cuddly this weekend. I keep having nightmares about people (things) chasing me.

Some knitting got done this weekend but most if it got done by Isabella. I knit a few scarves (with a few more to go) but not much more than that.

I feel exhausted. Not the tired kind. The I feel 110 kind. Hopefully this too will pass. I don't have any pictures for you of knitting so I will leave you with this. Elle finger painting with pudding.

Blue blanket

I have also started working on a variegated blue blanket. Just for the heck of it. As you can tell, the variegated hasn't started yet. There will be more colors (diagonally) as I work through it. It is a mindless knit and perfect for something to do with my hands while my mind is elsewhere.

Last night I finished one sleeve on the sweater I showed you yesterday. I only have one sleeve and the neckline to finish it up. So far I am on schedule to be able to wear it to work on Monday.
